THE REAL GREEK HELPS CHARITY PILE ON THE POUNDS
By admin, February 23rd 2009

February 2009. London diners can now order a conceptual dessert, the cost of which goes straight to charity.

The “guilt-free pudding” has been introduced by top restaurant group The Real Greek. Customers order the £1.95 dessert from the menu knowing that, instead of receiving an actual dessert, they will be making a donation to the company’s new charity partner Action Against Hunger.

Liz Williams, Managing Director said: “The Real Greek team wanted to give something back, as well as provide our customers with the opportunity to contribute to a worthwhile cause. Action Against Hunger and the wonderful work it carries out worldwide in fighting hunger and malnutrition is the perfect fit.”

“We didn’t want to go down the traditional route of having collection boxes in our restaurants, so we came up with the fun idea of offering a conceptual “guilt-free” pudding. It’s “guilt-free” because you get to support a fantastic charity, whilst not gaining any calories!”

The “guilt-free” pudding is now available in all 8 TRG restaurants.

Jean-Michel Grand, Action Against Hunger’s Executive Director, comments: “We are extremely grateful to The Real Greek for supporting our work. Thanks to their commitment we can continue to save the lives of malnourished children in countries such as Liberia, Sudan and Nepal and provide families with the seeds, tools and support they need to build a sustainable future. “
